Some interest has been expressed in an Active chess tournament in Winnipeg. Time controls would be 30 minutes a side (or something like that).

I would be interested in a one day active tournament especially if the tournament starts at 10:00 am and, if a five round tourney, then it should end around 6:00 pm. A tournament like this is probably suited to a person like myself (ie with kids) as I can devote one day to chess and another to another activity during a weekend.

I would be interested if it was run very efficiently, for example a 5-rounder between 10:00 a.m - 3:00 pm ,or roughly the time span of one long regular round !
No breaks other than what you get for a game that ends early.
Bring a sandwich or a banana to eat in between rounds.
